I have become very interested in Washington Quarters (32-98) and would like to learn more about them. Can anyone recommend a reference to me for different varieties found within this set? Thanks.

I wish I could help but unfortunately, I usually rely upon the "error prone" 5th Edition, VOL II of the CPG.

James Wiles produced a three Volume set of books called The Washington Quarter Dollar Book which covers the dates 1932 through 1949 and can be purchased online.

I found Volume three here: http://www.mjcoins.com/coin_books5.htm

There's a thread on the PCGS Forums which says that John Wexler and Kevin Flynn are working on a new Authoritative Reference on Washington Quarters, 1932 - 1998, but I don't know if its available yet.

Wexler and Flynn currently have "The Best of the Washington Quarter Doubled Dies". It's available online. Just do a search. I have no idea whats in it but have ordered a copy.

There's a book out there by David Feigenbaum (The Complete Guide to Washington Quarters) but I have no idea about the content. I've ordered this one as well.

Correction, The Complete Guide to Washington Quarters is by John Feigenbaum, not David.

Both my books arrived today. After glancing at both, I'd recommend the Wexler/Flynn book as it probably has what you're looking for.

Of course, James Wiles books are always very good but I'm not that deep into Washingtons to fork out for the three separate volumes.
