Here are two incredible toners that found their way from Detroit to Florida. Gbroke's coins look even better in person, and here are natural light photos of both 1963 Franklin proofs. The first one is a non-tpg in a plastic holder (the scratch is on the holder, not the coin in the reverse). The other is in an NGC slab. Both are magnificent, and thanks a ton, Greg. The dude has amazing taste in coins! The NGC is PF 65, and I would guess the unslabbed one is similar, maybe slightly higher--a 66 perhaps. One happy new parent over here!!
Yeah, I shot it in available light on my desk, with no backlight--just because I have not as yet come up with a half dollar template--I have one for Morgan slabs. They look great in any light--rainbow to golden tone! That is as good as it gets!
Those are beautiful! Gbroke, feel free to send some my way...seeing as how its a much shorter trip and all...
At first I thought you were insulting him by calling him mulletman! I do love the toning on that one and it isn't a series I have an interest in.
Oh no insult intended--Ben Franklin was the original mullet man. This is a running joke we have had for months, as I love collecting Franklins.
