Thank you, Kyle, for participating in my recent contest. Holding a contest is one thing, but if you hold a contest and people don't participate, where are you? I really liked your photos, it was so hard not picking all for voting. I'll bet you get better real soon, and if you need to have advice, there's lots of people you can ask. And look at Caz. He's fairly new to the hobby and his photos are getting close to professional in a lot of respects.

Thanks to Cointrader, JCB, and all the other people who put the awesome contests together for the forums. For a poor college student, it sometimes feel like this is the only way I can get new items for my collection.

Thanks to Ken (Green18) who, for whatever reason, has taken a shine to me. :p

And finally thanks to Peter, GD, Camero, Desertgem, and all the other mods who keep this place running.

I'll say thank you to all the young collectors who are slowly replacing those of us who give up because we lose interest (generally because of losing interest in living), otherewise a collection of collectors would look like an AARP convention. Please keep up the interest in coin collecting.

I have two friends on Coin Talk that I am indebted to.

One is a friend that I met when I first joined the group. Scotty, known as CoinOKC.
Scotty mailed me a red seal two dollar bill, because he felt sorry that I had never won a contest on CT. What a great and generous person Scott is in premoting collection ensentive.

Number two is a current friend Jason, know as JCB1983, who is also a true friend and promoter of collectors. Jason was kind enought to send me an 1899 dollar bill (Black Eagle) in honor of my father's birth year.

These two people did not get me started in collecting coins, but they have inspired me to keep my hobby going, giving me an added interest in my wanning years.

I don't think scotty is still on Coin Talk, but where ever he is I wish him the very best.
Of course you all know our friend Jason1983 who is very active and another inspiration to us all.

Dave how could I forget you sir. It has been a pleasure getting to know you. Dave did a complete geneology chart of my family free of charge. Awesome. Thank you for the kind words.

Still trying to figure out how to determine a winner on this contest. I think I'll do a grab bag of the post #'s and the winner+nominees in that post will win prizes.

I think RickieB has been the biggest influence for me since I joined the forum. I have learned so much from him about paper money...in many ways, he inspired my interest in paper money. So, thank you Rickie!

Can't believe I forgot RickieB, I'm pretty sure that he has been a major influence on just about everyone who hang out on the Paper Money side of the world.

Although I know she'll never read this, I just want to say thanks to our family dog for being the most selfless creature in the world! ;)

Yes, and thanks to everyone here for sharing their wealth of knowledge and thanks to ow9654 and stldanceartist for giving me good deals on some world coins recently.

Man Jason, outstanding idea for a contest.

First, I would thank Peter and Doug for putting this whole thing together. Second would be the mods who selflessly slog through thread after thread making sure the inmates aren't trying to take over the asylum. :)

For coin advice, off the top of my head I would thank Doug for neverending expertise, Doug Smith and Ardatirion for their in depth ancients knowledge, cpmball, lehigh, shane, mikenoodle, LD, mark feld, penny lady, and others for US knowledge. This is the hard part, thanking members since so, so many have great knowledge and I know I am missing 20 or more people I should be thanking here, but I have no hope of ever remembering everyone.

I wish to thank all of those who have/do/will disagree with me. This is a true asset, since if we all agreed on everything we would never learn anything. This is the true educational goldmine here, having an opportunity to have someone challenge your thoughts, make you defend them, and expose you to new ideas. I have learned a lot here.

Last but not least, to those I now consider my CT internet friends. You make it enjoyable to come here nearly every day, and I wish I get a chance in life to meet each of you in person at least once.

Dang, sounded like a cheesy Oscar speech huh? Well, I am hearing the music playing........

It is so hard for me to think of just one person to thank! I would just like to give a big thank you to the entire community. I love that I am able to come here and not only learn so much, but also I completely enjoy all the stories and antics that go on here. This is truly a great group of people that are always willing to listen and help! Thank you!!!:hail:

Once again, I would like to thank Doug for treating me to lunch at the FUN Show last January. He really doesn't want it to get out that he actually is a nice guy, so I guess I've nullified all his hard work for the last decade.

I agree with all the previously mentioned and I'll also add rlm and Hobo to the list of very knowledgable and helpful posters that deserve a mention.

Seriously Chris, do you really want to have Doug be an ornery cuss for another decade here just to overcome your, "Doug isn't such a mean guy" rumor!

    Geez!
