I have found crisp consecutive Star notes and many circ'ed Stars before but this is a first and quite interesting. Someone shed some light as to the logistical task of getting these replacements in line here.

The STAR notes were inserted to replace damaged notes. The Chicago star, G00288840* is replacing H86040388A , and the San Francisco star, L00617072* is replacing J70102860B.

That's pretty cool that you actually found star notes used for their intended purpose, which is to replace damaged notes. I have never found a star replacement in a CU strap of notes and I have gone through many new straps of bills in the past. It is also pretty cool that you have found new singles this time of year to begin with. I have gone to quite a few banks in the past month looking for new bills and none have had any. I get told the same thing from everyone, "We usually get new bills around Christmas." My response to the tellers is that the government prints new singles all year round so it is strange that they can only get them one time of the year.

None of those looks CU to me.
    They all have center folds.
Shouldn't have crammed them in your pocket.

I have only found one star note in a CU strap used as a replacement. It was an '09 G-* from a run of 640k, just like yours. Nice L-*, BTW. I have yet to snatch one.

Me too Travis. I'd love to get my hands on a L* for face value!

That is a neat find, not so much the star but finding one as an actual replacement in a new bank strap.

In the last 3 months I've gotten several brand new $1.00 straps, so they're being handed out. 2 straps had star notes in them. Both times in place of 9999 and roll over 00000 were 2 G-*s and 2 L-*s.
