If you had a high quality CC Morgan you were proud of and wanted to display it by putting it in a picture frame and hanging it on the wall, would you frame it so the obverse shows, or would you frame it so the reverse shows, so you can see the CC mintmark?
Interesting idea. I doubt I would ever do that, but It should be in a doubled glass frame, so both sides could be viewed ? But that would have to be pretty thick to hold the slab.
i would have it professionally photographed and display the photos. just me though or you can order one of these https://www.amosadvantage.com/scott...gory=FRM&category=FRM&part_no=CNW144&Tab=coin
I wouldn't frame it at all as it is probably one of the worst things you could do to the coin. Any coin, framed and hung on a wall is exposed to all of the things that you need to protect the coin from - humidity, changes in temperature, contaminants in the air, light etc. What you are doing by framing a coin and displaying it is exposing it to all of those dangers.
I don't think that I would ever put a coin into a picture frame. However, if I were to pick, I would put the reverse showing the mintmark for people to see.
Hmm... Have you talked to Blu62vette? He can do some awesome hi-res photos that you can print out and frame. Much better for the coin and you can enjoy the bigger picture. If interested, shoot him a PM and ask about it. http://www.cointalk.com/member.php?u=17342
My wife tells me I should do this with high rez photos of my coins, instead of hiding them away. Makes sense to me if I wasnt worried about theft or bringing unnecessary attention to my hobby. I dont need a friend of a friend of a friend coming to break into my house for the next meth fix.
You're going to need a nice writeup to go along with your coin (a single coin in a frame gets sorta lost), similar to this Sac: http://www.ebay.com/itm/2000-P-Saca...57?pt=Coins_US_Individual&hash=item20c767d479
