Sorry the quality is not great, but this is a 1981 Jefferson nickel and there is this defect on the face. There are also odd lines in the hair portion. Any ideas? Thank you.
Welcome to CT Better pictures would definitely help as would a picture of the reverse, but my first take would be a partially capped die. Without better pictures, that would be a guess at best.

Looks like the coin was struck by a capped die and a possible brockage on the portion from Jefferson's ear and to the left.
But you did not upload the better photos to this thread; you started a new thread. That will cause confusion.
The coin was struck through a late-stage die cap and also indented by an intrusive planchet that insinuated itself between the die cap and the planchet represented by this coin.
