Calling the Toning Experts! Are these Ikes Artificially Toned?

I bought these on a whim, relatively cheap. Your thoughts on the toning are appreciated. I've seen coins toned like this before but I'm far from an expert on toning. Alas, these are the only pics I have until I receive them.

So expert please, AT or not, and why (or why not)? And a rough guess on grade?

    Thanks!

Toning looks natural enough to me, as for grade I'd say they are all circulated. 'Bout as much as I can say based on those pics.

They look album toned to me, and grade is almost impossible with the size of those pictures, and the distracting green background. I have a feeling that when you get them, they won't be anywhere as near as dark, as the background is making the exposure go darker--bet the toning is moderate and typical album natural tone. They look mid grade MS to me, off the top of my head.---MS 63 or so.

Thanks for the quick replies - I'm still fighting the atachments!
Really hard to tell, I know. If not unc then they're a planchet chatter collector's dream.
I will post better pictures when they arrive.

If there are a group all with the same even toning then I would tend to think artificial toned or at best helped along toning. IE a album left on the water heater for several months.

Atarian, do you like the coins? Do you like the tarnish? I apologize if those questions are only indirectly-related to your topic but I'm curious whether they ever occurred to you.

I used to like all my coins to be blast white, but lately I've started to appreciate some of the interesting toning that can be found, mainly because people posted some really nice ones here. These ones here aren't the fancy/expensive rainbow colors that are sometimes seen, but I've got a couple of Ikes now with an even golden tone that I thinks looks very nice. Hopefully these look better in real life. For $6 we'll see.

Did that sort of anwer the question?

Yes it does. And from a collector standpoint, that's all that should matter, isn't it?

Of the three types of toning, I believe your Ike is album toned. There are also several different color patterns involved with toning and yours is called Monochromatic.

I don't know how anyone can make a toning call on these Ikes, based on the scanned images.

The colors I'm seeing do not look like any Ike toning I have seen come from an album... They looked cooked to me.

lol. The only thing they have in common is they are Ikes,

edit: Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. Take a look at the sellers other auctions and then tell me it's natural. Total cooker. Check out the purple state quarters.

Ebay tip for purchasing toned coins #1:
Always look at the sellers other auctions.

Honestly, they look like they have been in felt for a while. Toning being artificial or natural? Up for debate.

lol. I doubt the felt would stand up to the broiler.

Given the photos provided, one can only give their best estimate as to grade, NT, AT, counterfeit or whatever. With the coins actually in hand, a persons opinion may change from that of just looking at a photo. I felt you were looking for opinions, so I gave mine. Again, that opinion may change drastically if the coins were viewed in person. I don't know everything about coins or toning, but I guess there are a few that do.

After looking at the seller's other coins, I agree with G.

The seller has some questionable stuff. Thats for sure. I'm not sure what to think about the OP coins.
They have the AU look with images that make it impossible to tell much about the toning.

My wild guess. AU coins with NT. One of the many types of holders and storage caused the toning.
Will be interesting to see some new images.

My guess about the OP's coins would be artificial...
