I had to post this coin board that Winged Liberty so graciously made for my MPL's. What a fantastic job he did on the layout and color. Thank you WL. I love it!!!
I was bored so I took some coin photos today. Sorry if any of these are repeats...hard to keep track what I post on here and what I don't. The wheat: The memorial...must been dipping into Mr. Daniel's bottle a little when photographing that reverse but it'll work: The shield...yeah, I know. I don't have the '11 or the '12 yet.
It's been in my vault for 20 years. Just pulled out a bunch of stuff to look at, snap some quick pics, & log into my ProCoin 2012 software program.
Just picked this one up off the bay. It's still a raw coin but not for long as I will be submitting this one here shortly. Thanks for taking a look......Joe
09 VDB Lincoln This one was hard to photograph. I can't tell you why, I guess it was just camera shy.
Ouch. While it looks to have AU-BU details, it seems to me like it was cleaned. Either that, or the picture makes it seem like it has dull luster. However, I envy you for even having the "King" of Lincolns (unless you want to consider the '55 DDO the "king"...).
My father and his six brothers and sisters had received this from my great-grandfather. My great-grandfather, Edouard Muller, had received it after stepping down as CEO of Nestle. (Even though his wiki page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Édouard_Muller_(Nestlé) states he was CEO until his 'sudden passing' which is not at all correct) Anyhow, they recently sold this piece to the MET for seven figures. Luckily, I had the honor of seeing that statue on many occasions as it's previous home was my grandparent's foyer. Just thought I'd share even though this is not the Lincoln you though you'd be seeing. http://www.metmuseum.org/Collections/search-the-collections/20024822
