Two finds in a $1 roll. Near date and an error on some SBA

Found these two in the same roll yesterday.

Found a 1979 "Near Date" in great condition.




Also, found this error. Grease filled die I am guessing.

Good find on the near date. I have recently found one as well. I think you are correct on the grease/debris filled die. Unfortunately, they dont really carry a premium unless it is extensive. This is a penny i found a few months ago that demonstrates a great example of a grease/debris filled die.

 

Cool coin. Quite a few errors. True that the grease filled errors don't carry a premium, but they are fun to find. Especially after you have searched though countless rolls with little to show for it.
