Hi Joey..... That poor old cent was placed in a vice against another cent in somebody's garage. The giveaway is the inverse "One Cent" lettering.... Unfortunately, we see these fairly regularly. Welcome to the forum.

Damn, I figured it was something like that. I thought it may be some bc the United States is reversed and the Liberty looks doubled. Well... darn. Tysm for the info. I appreciate it.

@Joey Wright Welcome to Coin Talk and it's nice you have an open mind to quick, correct answers. Many newbs can argue for pages.

    Welcome to CT Joey.
Do you have a focus for your collection? Cents, nickels, dime, etc.?

Notice how it’s backwards? It was placed in a vice with another cent and squeezed. Someone was trying to make a mint error but it’s just damaged.

    Welcome to CT.

Thanks for being so helpful! Yes, after I looked at the penny more carefully, I completely see how someone put it in a vice with another penny. Sucker fooled me, but I'm new to this and it's nice to be able to get honest feedback. Thank you everyone that responded, I appreciate it.
