I just succumbed to an offer from Littleton to join their 20th Century Half-Dollar Club. For $19.95 and $4.95 shipping, they sent me an MS-60 1964 Kennedy, VF 1963 D Franklin and an XF 1943 Walking Liberty half. Now I know they will probably bug me, but I don't think I will be buying anything else. Not a bad deal if you are a cheapie or just starting.
If this is the same group I have heard story's of before you will spend the next three years sending stuff you don't want back to them. And if I remember correctly your on the hook for shipping even on the stuff you don't want and did not order.:rollling:
I'm sorry, but signing up for anything Littleton sounds like your going to pay at least 3X for anything in your collection.
Actually re-started my relationship (distant) with Littleton when I bought three ASL's from them quite a few years ago. They really haven't bugged me very much, so lets see what they do now.
That's right. They will send you nice painted coins with real enamel, some gold plated kennedy half dollars and other ruined dreck. All you have to do is package them up and drive to the post office. Oh and remember to pay for insurance and delivery confirmation while you are paying to ship the overpriced items back.
OOPS. I believe you have just joined a club which sends you something every month or more often on approval. You either buy the item or return it to them at your expense. Initially, you get a good deal, but you may have to stay in the club for a minimum time or pay extra for the items you already have. Get out the magnifyer and read all the small print.
Point well taken. The small print sez I can quit at any time. Used to do this often with (does anyone remember) Columbia Record Club.
I recently bought a coin from them, but somehow missed the part of their ad that said this would start me on an approval service (or it's possible the ad never even mentioned this). Anyway, I had no intention of doing a coin approval service so I notified them to stop, and I haven't received any more coins, so I think telling them you want to quit works. If they don't listen to you and they continue to send you coins, just hold onto the coins, pay them nothing, and eventually they'll get the hint.
