well, I finished my first box of cents out of the 3 I bought today. 1960 that I have been looking forever for. Now I can just look for wheats. I found a 47, 57, 56, 56-D, 58-D and a few 59's

    Cracking box 2 momentarily

Three boxes of halves: Nothing. But I did notice that the 2's on 2002 halves don't match.

    Wow, TD was open today!

    Box of dimes - skunk
    $165 BWR dimes - '68 CDN

Heard the sound of big coins being clanged around behind the counter as one of the tellers had to change the bag on the Penny Arcade. I asked if that was the sound of halves I was hearing. He told me they were actually Ikes. I scooped up all $85 worth. As best as I can tell from my research tho, looks like a skunk. Kinda cool tho since I hadn't seen those big boys since I was a kid.

Not really a roll topic, but I just saw an episode of Hawaii 5-0 (Jack Lord version)

Bad Guy had a 1912 Liberty Head nickle changed into the 1913. Got a quick hands guy to make the switch at a coin show. He is leaving with the coin, alarms go off, he uses it to buy a paper, so when searched, he doesn't have it.

He returns to rob the machine guy. Coins spill all over, he grabs what he can. No 1913.

An old man and grandson find it, spend it at a store, store gives it out in change to a couple of women, who spend it at a bar, where bartender gives it out in change. To the quick hands guy. Only in TV/movies.

Oh well, one can only hope...

I saved a roll from the first box I ever bought a couple of weeks ago. I told my wife I was saving it for a special occasion, as a joke. Today I remembered I had it, went through it, and found a 1970-S high 7 penny. I took it over to my neighbor's house for a second opinion, because your eyes play tricks on you when you want to see something. He pulled out every bill in his wallet, $90 total, and offered to buy it right then. I wanted to sit on it and find out if it was a good deal, but my wife pulled it up on her phone while we were talking and noticed over a dozen on ebay for $85-$90 that weren't selling, so I took the $90. Not bad for something that cost me a penny :D

Your right next door to me so we are prob dealing with the same issues, it's not making this fun anymore, but I don't really want to stop because I've never scored a dream box, or even a box with 20 silvers in it. I'm going to continue to plug on and stop all my whining. I had a good score the other day with that Ike which helped out my spirits. I'm going today to hit up at least 3 banks for boxes of dimes so I can search and dump them on Saturday morning and start the madness again. Going to try and hit up a new branch and ask about ordering halves, they always sell me dimes. Then I'm going to hit some "rich" towns to see about getting some CWR halves and dimes.

Speaking of TD being open, I had absolutely no luck with the rolls I picked up yesterday like most others. I'm pretty sure they changed carriers lately, because now they're getting paper wrapped rolls from garda instead of plastic ones from brinks.

I have a bad feeling this means that now,all the change CRHers dump at td is ending up in other banks rolls even faster. Garda sevices nearly everyone around here :(

That's going to be tuff for you guys because it seems all of the coin machines are rejecting the silver. Your just going to have to hang out at the banks and keep checking the reject and you'll get your silver. Make smaller dumps at more locations so you can get some more free silver. Garda is kind of taking over in my state too. I wonder why.

Well, it's just a theory but I have noticed halves and nickels have been a lot more skunky lately. I really wish we could get some clarification from someone in the armored car or banking industry.

It's also entirely possible that TD only uses Garda to transport and wrap their coins, in fact with the amount they take in from Penny Arcade it seems almost silly for them to buy rolls unless absolutely necessary. I think it's possible that even though Garda services multiple chains around here, they could be getting coins from different warehouses or distribution facilities (TD gets coins from the TD warehouse, etc).

I definitely need to test it out a lot more before I start writing off finding silver from any particular chain... except for TD, which is perpetually skunky regardless of who is delivering rolls. I really only ever have luck with wheat cents and the occasional war/buffalo nickel there.

I guess that it's also somewhat cyclical, bank chains probably have contracts with armored car companies to provide them with coin delivery services, and when those contracts expire it's open season for all the armored car companies to bid on a new contract. Garda may have just been the low bidder for TD in this region this time around, but that doesn't mean they still will be when the contract expires in 6 or 12 months (or however long the contract is), and I'm guessing that means Wells Fargo or Chase or whoever could potentially switch carriers when their contracts expire as well.

Got a typical box of cents for me. Four wheats. Started pulling copper out just so I could feel like I'm getting something out of these cent boxes.

Can we get some pics of the 50D?

I took a mini road trip today on my lunch break, ended up with 40 in halves which had 3 40%ers. Got a lead on a few more halves for tomorrow, and a bank that will order me an extra box of dimes every week. Also found a 1903 V Nickel in a box I got yesterday.

3 boxes of halves to pick up tomorrow too... but I'm expecting 3 skunks with my luck lately
