half dollar dipping

i know they gold dipped halves but did someone silver dip them to? found 2 -83 & 85 that looked dipped or plated whatever you call them.

If it can be done to a coin, it's been done. It could be silver or any number of things. Possibly even polished.
Some pics would be good to evaluate them better.

Looks like it was some sort of commemorative coin that was made because it was the bicentennial, and then used in circulation.
