I just got my first SLQ, a 1928 S. Sorry for the bad photos, the only camera I have is a Toshiba Camileo BW10. I think the obverse pics came out better than the reverse. It was marked as AU. Any scratches you see are on the mylar flip, mostly noticeable on the reverse. I tried taking pics without the flash but they were too grainy.
It's a great series, and exceptionally beautiful in high grade. I like the look of your coin, even though it's probably been cleaned at some point (I may be wrong about that). Here's my latest (taken with my old Sony Mavica):
Love that Daniel Carr up there, great looking pic. Here's my 1921, nothing special but I just had to get one. :thumb:
I knew something was wrong with it. The rims were all wrong and a 31-S? I was thinking fake, but that's where Daniel Carr comes in.
Nice SLQs everyone! I really like SLQs. One of my favorite US coins. It's just a classic art deco design. In my opinion the natural patina that develops as the coin tones over time through circulation further enhances the look of the design by bringing out the detail. But a pic is worth a thousand words. Here are a couple from my collection that I believe illustrate the point I'm trying to make.
I truly think the SLQ's are a stunning and beautiful coin series. I "liked" every single post that included a picture. Thanks for sharing!!
