Question: 1796 Tennessee coin

    Just dug this coin today. Been looking all over the net trying to find any info on it but no luck.. on the reverse side is a bear in the inscription the smoky mountains.Any info would be great.. thanks for the help..

    That looks like one side of a medal. Probably made of Nickel. The other side of the medal should have a bear and say "The Smoky Mountains". There should be no value on this, hence a medal and not a coin.

    Privately struck medal or token. Value is within the view of the holder (owner)........

    Realized I said "no value on this" = no monetary value stated on the medal (like "quarter dollar" or "one dime" or "one cent") vs no value = not worth anything to a collector. I meant the former.
