Hello i have this silver roman coin i think, can someone please tell me more about it and if is genuine and how much is worth?..thanks
Looks real and of emperor Trajan. Not sure if its crud on the back or a fouree, which would make it an ancient counterfeit.
I'm amazed how cheap Roman coins are. I bought 14 bronze coins from a dealer for £10...soaked them in olive oil and got to work with a wet tooth pick.ID'd them and then put them on Ebay.I made nearly £100....but a lot of work went into it. So people out there got a reconditioned ID'd coin over 1600 years old for about £7.
I love ancients! The idea of owning a circulated coin that 2000 years old or more is amazing. I metal detect and there are coins that I find that are not two years old that are almost disintegrated.
I detect too.I have the site of a Roman fort 400m away and arable fields surrounding the village full of coins.Trouble is getting permission.
