I just acquired a box of new pennies. All are dated 2006 and consistantly wrapped in the same type wrapper. How do I nknow if they are unopened bank rolls? Also, any suggestions on what to look for, or should I keep them as is? This new bank says they order from something called lumus? Is that a familiar name to anyone? Finally, they said they can order anything I want. So, any suggestions??

    Susan,
Loomis,Fargo & Co. is an armored car/security outfit that picks up deposits and delivers change to retail stores. They probably buy big bags of cents from the mint and do their own rolling. So technically they aren't "bank" rolls but there really is no difference since they're sort of a bank. They look kinda cool though.

I like searching halves & nickel rolls from the bank. You can reseposit the unused coins into your account. I love getting silver and other needed coins at face value

Something to consider when BUYING rolls - there are many bank supply companies online that sell supplies that make things look more bank-like. Wrappers, tamper evident bags, canvas bags, etc. Just something to watch oput for when shopping on eBay.
