Just wondering since it seems to have a glossy finish. What do you think the grade is of this dime? I bought it with a $1 face of junk silver for $21. It is kind of ugly but worth melt. I
Sometimes junk is just junk but sometimes junk is not junk at all. I bought others at melt that weren't junk at all like VG barber quarters, half and dime and a VF-25 walker. A lot of coins can be had at close to melt that are worth more but apparently not this one even though it does have a glossy finish due to its overall ugliness.
Oh believe me there are lots of treasures to be found in dealers "junk" bin or at flea markets. Im just confused as to the point of this thread no disrespect intended.
I did not know what to think of this dime but apparently it was bought as junk and will sell at melt. That would probably be a good thread to start though, bargains bought at close to melt.
As a general rule of thumb, here's what to look for in junk bins that aren't really "junk": -Higher grade coins (depending on age: ex: BU roosies, AU-BU mercs, F+ barbers/seated libs); assuming they're not problem coins. -Semi/key dates (again, assuming they're not problem coins...unless they're THE key date) -Popular varieties/errors (ex: 42/1 merc)
