I thought I posted this, but maybe i didn't. Here is a decent 1812 Bust Half which has an excellent J on the clasp.
nice coin and a help to me. I have a couple raw coins that I was sure were mid AU and I can use those (great) pics as a guide.
Here is another one, but I think mine is better. http://www.davidkahnrarecoins.com/p-768-1827-o143-pcgs-au-50-450.aspx
Yeah - I don't have that date, but looking at it, I don't think it is a strong of an AU50 as mine is/was actually, the 1812.
Such a stunning patina on this one, Ruben! One Q - Did you purchase this from David Kahn? He uses those stickers for labeling the 'O' numbers, and the handwriting is very similar. As a handwriting analyst (haa!), I've examined the consistency of the '3' on one of his compared to yours - Just because I have nothing better to do on a Sunday night. You can only expect premium-quality stuff from that guy, I tell ya... So I wouldn't be too surprised if that's who you purchased this from :thumb: -Brian
What is one Q? Yes - I got that from David Kahn. He seems to be my favorite dealer of late. I like the prices and quality of the half dimes especially. There are worst things to do on a Sunday night. My daughter just came over and dropped off, not one but TWO, 6 packs of Carvel Flying Sauses that she picked up at 10PM from the Carvel Store on Coney Island Avenue. She is a GREAT Daughter. That is so bad for my weight.
BTW - he did a less than stellar job on grading that Merc in the window shopping thread, not that I complain.
