Error or Damaged? Split planchet?

    Hey guys!

I was wondering if anyone could tell me anything about this coin? I received it yesterday as change, and it literally fell apart in my hand. I did some quick research and possibly have a split planchet, but could not really find any examples that looked like this. Has this coin just been damaged, or do I have an error coin that is worth holding onto?

Thanks for your help in advance!

Definitely PMD. Some sort of magicians coin would be my guess.

    Agreed. Magician's coin.

Thank you both. I don't actually believe this coin made it through circulation for almost 50 years in two pieces, so I figured it was mostly pmd, but I thought it may have had some sort of odd strike that weakened or cracked the coin leading to the perfect, dead center circle on the reverse. Thought maybe someone else had seen something similar if that was the case.

Google magician's coins. You'll find quite a variety of them. They usually retail for $10-$20 each depending on the magic trick.
