http://www.icollector.com/The-Pre-Long-Beach-Sale_as14916 Well, it finally happened. The reference photos I had been using to attribute early date Large Cents can no longer be captured and copied. While still available for viewing, I had used them by capturing the image and them manipulating them to show particular features of the varieties and resorting them in a more user friendly way. But all good things come to an end and I appreciate the time where that was possible. This happened last night since I was in the process of capturing these images to recreate my personal attribution reference which was lost after my PC was wiped out from a virus. I completed 1797 yesterday and was starting on 1793 this morning. At some point, I hope we give more latitude and thought of the benefits of having images become a part of the public domain rather than trying to squeeze every last dollar out of them. This goes for all the Royal intellectual properties. But the almighty dollar rules the hearts of men in this fallen world. But maybe I would think differently if they were my photos. Unfortunately, I'm still as selfish as the next fellow.
Marshall - go to your link, put your cursor over the image you want, right click. Select Open in New Tab. Once the image opens place your cursor over it and right click. Select Save As and save it. I did it with 4 pics, it works.
Either that, or just use the Print Screen key on your keyboard and paste it into an image editor, such as Irfanview.
Thank you both for your assistance. It appears they have added the "do not" symbol which usually indicates it won't capture the image, but it will drag anyway. Thanks.
What browser are you using? I'm not having any problem copying them. And if you can't get them from the icollector site they are still available on Goldbergs auction archives with larger images. Here's the link http://images.goldbergauctions.com/php/toc_auc.php?site=1&lang=1&sale=54
if you want to create a photo archive you can just use a mass-download program on the img source directory http://64.60.141.195/photos/
Once gain I wish to thank you all for your assistance. I've been busily rebuilding my photo database with some slight improvements. It's mostly Holmes coins with a few Heritage and ANS supplements. If anyone has a full size image of the 1793 NC-5, I'd appreciate a link. All I could find was an old thumbnail and the ANS photos are not available and were removed in 2011 because they were wrong anyway.
Thank you so much for the image. I had the thumbnail of this photo, but the detail was lost when I enlarged it. These do much better when enlarged. And thank to everyone who helped me recreate my reference material. I feel much better now.
