One way I use to find out is to google it. Then do a search on Ebay for "liberia" in "coins" category. Often there will be one up for sale that give details.

If you are looking at an auction on ebay, of course ask the seller a question.

It tickles me how sellers on Ebay will use 20 long paragraphs to discuss themeselves and the terms of buying, paying, and shipping, and use half a sentence describing the size and content of the coin.

As far as I know, all of the Liberian coins are plated silver. (100mil)

Liberia's last regular issue circulating silver coins were in 1961. There have been commems issued since that time in silver.

edited to add the word "silver".

I've got to admit that I know next to nothing about Liberian coinage, so I will just offer this link that has some info on the subject.
Take it for what it's worth. Hope it helps the OP in some way.
