I left it blank because I'm not sure if we are going to be able to do it or not. I need to talk to the vinyl guy. I'm working on a few more ideas.
Okay! I'll be the only one to disagree. I don't like either. They're too overpowering. I would prefer to see framed prints and/or photographs of the various mint buildings and their floor plans - Old Philly, New Philly, Granite Lady, New Orleans, Carson City, Dahlonega, Charlotte, Denver, West Point, and even Fort Knox and the Treasury Department. Probably all of these could be obtained from government archives. These could be hung randomly covering the bulk of an off-white partition beginning about 5' up from the floor. Chris
Sure you can, and it's easy. Just make your vinyl print. Then when you go to put it on the wall, you cut the print down the center line of the door casing, save the cutout. Trim the wall portion to the door casing just like you would any vinyl wall paper. Then paste the cutout you saved to the door, just like you did the rest to the wall. Then trim about a half inch bigger than the door all the way around. This will allow you to fold the excess over the edges of the door and glue it down. That will keep the edges of the print from peeling up with use of the door like it would if it was trimmed exactly to the edge of the door. I've done the exact same thing numerous times to hide doors in vinyl or paper murals
I'm a fan of the first idea with the four coins side by side, however a copper and a proof would be nice additions, How about reducing the size of the coins and making the background black???
If you go with coinage, I think you're going to need a flying eagle cent. I really like the third one though. Nice historic image.
I like the buildings best. I'd probably go for something more relaxing, like a nature scape of some sort.
With all due respect, I couldn't care less about how a shop looks... only with what is in the case and how the man behind the counter handles himself. As for the wall, I find all to be distracting and unnecessary, although I do applaud your thinking outside the box. I would go with something more simple and along this lines of what cpm9ball suggested.
I like the first one- it's colorful, interesting, and represents several top quality examples of US coins.
I agree with Doug! I think that wall is a great conversation piece and anybody who visits your store will tell others about it. That wall might actually attract new customers simply by word of mouth.
I think it screams ya know shark tank... you want to produce a warm enviro to invite peopl not scream here piggie piggie
The one I like in my area has a painting of a gold coin on canvas and a bunch of Cincinnati notes in frames, hung up. I think it's fairly artsy, but not flashy at all.
I like it also, but how about something in between the first two. Something 2 or 3 coins high in stead of 1/2 a coin or just a menagerie.
I like both of them for different reasons: I like the first one because of the variety and different colors in the coins and because there's a giant Morgan obverse. I like the second design because of the number and layout of the coins. Whatever you do, you should definitely make certain that there's a big a** Morgan on there somewhere! I still like them both. If I owned a shop, I'd use this pic: If you wanna use it I could use an MS 1881 Carson City
