LC sells on eBay and I once won one of their auctions (I may have posted this before) for the matte Kennedy half. Coin arrived in good time but was clearly low end for the grade (69), so I returned it for an exchange. Got the replacement in due time and was satisfied with it. So I'd have to say that, customer service-wise, they do a good job. Price-wise (in their ads) they are too high. But I am still on their mailing list and get their catalogs all the time (prices WAY too high, IMO), which make great bathroom reading.
So do you think this is a good deal? http://www.forumancientcoins.com/ca...&fld=http://www.forumancientcoins.com/Coins2/ LT59325. 55 prutot and lepta, mostly (or all) inscription in wreath obverse and crossed cornucopias reverse, and star obverse and anchor reverse types, mostly Fine, a few with irregular flans, some with corrosion, unattributed; acutal coins in the photograph, as is, no returns; $440.00
I hate coins cleaned this way. Looks like the old rock tumbler clean. Washes out too many details. For $8 a coin, might be ok for a telemarketer or something. Ruben, I do know where you can get decent group lots of Judaic coins at times. You can PM me and I will let you know about it.
The single coin looked fine, and you are right centering and full flan are issues with these. I was referring to the group lot. Many problem coins and they appear cleaned with a rock tumbler which lessens details.
