How much is this worth? Any numismatic value over melt? I brought it to a coin show to find out its grade and the one dealer said it was VF. I showed it to one dealer who was rather snippy and said he would give me melt. Could I get more for it? I found it in a roll of dimes.

1943 is very common. It's worth maybe 50 cents over melt.

Looks like melt city to me.... Unless it has luster there is little to no market for them anymore

I actually do see luster that isn't apparent in this scan.
Maybe a picture would display it better?
I like it and will keep it for that year but it probably is only worth 50 cents over melt and maybe I could get an extra buck on Ebay.

there isn't luster. too worn. VF coins wouldn't have luster. But it is a nice find worth melt.

Cazkaboom One for all, all for me.

Common coin, common circulated grade. Looks like environmental damage. I would offer melt as well. The dealer was right.

Environmental damage? What kind of environmental damage could there be sitting in a roll of dimes? I see toning and silver oxide. Maybe I will dunk it in acetone since it is only worth melt or 50 cents over and get the crud off. I could maybe get a $1 over melt on Ebay, from what I have seen them go for but would also have to pay fees.
