I found this penny the other day and wanted some opinions on whether this should be submitted for attribution due to the cud. I am comparing it to the 1922 Peace dollar ear ring cud. Please tell me what you think! Image14.jpg Image13.jpg To me the cud looks like a bird.

    rickmp Frequently flatulent.

Not a cud, but a die chip. (Lincoln has a chip on shoulder!)
A cud spreads from the edge of the coin.

thanks rickmp. do you think it would carry a premium like this coin does?

Die chips are common and don't carry any sort of premium. In fact, most collectors will reject such coins as it is technically a flaw.

Is there much of adifference between a crack and a chip?

It looks like PMD to me, something pushed the shoulder from the left to raise it, then the highest point became worn.
