Question about this coin (error?)

    Hi.

    I have a question about this US/PI 50cents, 1944-S. The first "4" is somehow not that visible. I've check for varieties in my book (Neil Shafer) regarding this coin and it's not listed.

    It would be considered a "struck-through" error or a "filled die" error.
