    Reel #2
Slot Drama #4= melon, blank, loco--- blank, melon, loco, melon
Round #9= bar, loco, blank, melon

This proves that there has to be 3 locomotives on reel #2, I believe you provided a hint that was wrong (just my guess, can you double check please) This will also change most of the other hints that you have given, that is why in my last reel post i mentioned that they are not correct because they don’t fit the clues that you have listed

    Comment Response And Symbol Hashing

Comment: Crossed fingers (Reel guesses)... (Silentnviolent, Post #274)

Response: Reel #1 and Reel #3 have been solved, so I only looked over Reel #2 in your submission. Your symbols do not match my 'Reel Key' for Reel #2, however, I'm not longer certain that my 'key' is accurate. Read on...

Follow Up: Today's Comment & response deals exclusively with the Reel Mapping contest. If you're not interested in the Reel Mappings, you'll probably want to to skip this section entirely and scroll down this page until you see the Large Green And Red Text.

    ----------------------

Comment: I have a guess on the second... but I will wait until K2 publishes his attempt since he has correctly guessed Reel 1 and 3... (LFCfan, Post #277)

    Response:
A classy thing to do, LFC. The idea for a Reel Mapping Contest was secondary to the original Slot Machine Contest idea. I had no idea that the Reel mapping would be so difficult to resolve, and so confusing to reconcile vs. everyone's guesses. Once again, read on...

Response: I've been looking over my 'Reel Key' for much of the afternoon, trying to figure out what's happening here. I've also reviewed the videos you've noted above. Since Reel #1 and Reel #3 have already been correctly solved, I see no harm in publishing my Reel Key. As I indicated near the beginning of the contest, making the 'Key' was a messy and maddening challenge, but I believe it will help us resolve our symbols and hints for Reel #2.

Here is a link. The file name is "Reel Key". I've left the file size quite large, so that players can view the writing in detail. In addition to the symbols that I determined were on the machine, you will also note crossed out symbols that were part of my working mapping, and some other notes. Near the bottom of the page on each reel you will note the total numbers of symbols that I determined were present on each reel. If you've been following the Reel Mappings, you may want to view this in a separate window.
    http://i1112.photobucket.com/albums/...n/200a68b1.jpg

You'll note that I show two LOCOMOTIVES on Reel #2, one at the top of the list (preceeded on the reel by a MELON which appears at the bottom of the list) and another LOCOMOTIVE seven positions from the bottom of the list (preceeded by a BAR and followed by a BLANK, after we discard the crossed out symbols). You will also note that I show (at the bottom of the Reel #2 list) a total of 2 LOCOMOTIVEs, 5 BARs, 10 MELONs and 5 BLANKs for Reel #2. All clues (or hints) have been based on these notes.

Now all that we need to do is see whether the "Reel Key" matches what we have seen in the videos noted by K2. It's a little easier to do this in reverse order from how K2 posted the videos, so please bear with me.

Let's take the 'Round #9' video first. We see a LOCOMOTIVE that is preceded by a BAR and followed by a BLANK. Our key DOES MATCH these symbols for the LOCOMOTIVE that's near the bottom of the 'Key'.

Next, we look at the SECOND VIDEO mentioned by K2 for 'Slot Drama #4', and we see a LOCOMOTIVE that has a MELON before it and another MELON after it. And once again, our key DOES MATCH these symbols, this time for the LOCOMOTIVE at the top of the Reel #2 listing.

Finally, we take a look at the other video that K2 mentions. This is the first video of the 'Slot Drama' series. Here, we see a LOCOMOTIVE that's preceded by a MELON which itself it preceded by a BLANK. We don't know what follows the LOCOMOTIVE, but we don't need to. Checking our "Key", we DO NOT MATCH this symbol combination (MELON BLANK LOCOMOTIVE) for either of the LOCOMOTIVEs in the "Key". This means K2 is right! There must be a third LOCOMOTOVE on Reel #2.

So the question now becomes, "What are the correct symbols, and how did I end up with an inaccurate "Key" for Reel #2? In order to answer the first question with certainty, we would need to spin the reels several times (at least) to re-map Reel #2 in a "parallel mapping" attempt. This would also throw off our continuing contest results, so there's no need to go there at this time. But we can get a hint of what went wrong if we look closely at the list of crossed-out symbols on the mapping chart for Reel #2.

If you look at the two crossed-out symbols above the second LOCOMOTIVE in the list, you will see a MELON and BLANK, that I (at one time) had "penciled in" for that location on the reel. And you will also see a horizontal line immediately above the MELON, which was a way of reminding myself whether I was 'reasonably certain' or 'not reasonably certain' of the accuracy of the symbols either above-or-below the horizontal line. My conclusion in reviewing the "Key" is that at one point I thought there was a LOCOMOTIVE preced
ed by the six crossed out symbols. Later on during the mapping I determined that four of those symbols were inaccurate, but mistakenly crossed off all six, leaving us with the "Reel Mapping" we see, which coincidentally happened to match the total of 22 symbols per reel that I would later discover was an accurate total per reel.

So, after making my humble apologies ("Sorry, folks... :help!A:), the question remains... Has K2 accurately mapped Reel #2? It's possible that he has, however, we can't be 100% sure without either spinning and re-mapping the reel and/or viewing the archived videos numerous times in succession, in hopes that we can logically rule out all other possibilities. Instead, I'm going to leave the mapping contest open for One Numismatic Prize to any other player who can submit whatever symbols are actually on Reel #2 (and at the same time disprove the submission by K2). At the end of the contest, I will open up the machine and remove the reel (if necessary) to verify the actual symbols.

Whether or not K2 proves to be correct for Reel #2, he has already submitted the correct listings for Reels 1 and 3 and corrected the master 'key'), and properly deserves to be awarded One Numismatic Prize for Reel Mapping in the Spin To Win Contest.
