@TypeCoin971793 is so far the only CoinTalker who’s identified himself. I’ve seen a few folks I know online from Collectors Universe. PS- note the little girl under the back table, busy with her crayons and pizza. Reminds me of how I used to take my infant son along when I was selling coins at the flea market, many moons ago.
Been a while since I’ve seen any of this huge Swedish plate money. I bought one of these with a shipwreck pedigree back at FUN 2006 or thereabouts. No longer have it.
This is nice. Don’t think I’m a buyer, but I was semi-tempted. @Jdmern has it. So far, not counting a tasty but heinously priced chili dawg, I’ve only spent money on one coin- that $60 Judaean piece I posted earlier (got it for $55). It’ll go off with my growing NGC Ancients submission tomorrow (Saturday) morning.
Thank you for checking! EDIT: The organizer of the FUN show, Cindy Wibker, got back to me and told me that she did put the flyers on the tables! You probably just passed over them, or people have taken them all!
@lordmarcovan I should have been checking on line earlier. I was at FUN Thursday and Friday. Had lunch today with @ToughCOINS
@lordmarcovan, could you swing by the Schulman table one more time and take a picture of the staff. I am interested in a picture of Mika. He helped me immensely with my collection. Thank you.
Stuff was piled every whichaway on those tables, so I probably just missed them. I’ll try to remember to recheck tomorrow AM.
I asked why they stuck it in an oversized holder like that. “Because it’s such an important coin, I guess,” was what I recall the dealer saying. Edit: apparently that’s a PCGS “Gold Shield Rarities” holder, according to the cert page.
I stayed over in the 100-400 aisles all day, aside from one visit to the PCGS booth. What’s your table number? I’ll visit the other side of the room more tomorrow. I also took off my recognizable holey coin top hat when it got uncomfortable, and was wearing a less recognizable ball cap the remainder of the day.
Will do my best tomorrow. Sorry I missed a lot of these messages when I got distracted and had to leave my phone at Tom Wood’s table to recharge.
I looked up the cert on that proof double eagle that they let me hold with my grubby little peasant hands. https://www.pcgs.com/cert/44155911 PCGS priceguide value is lower than I thought. Only $375,000! LOL
Dinner Friday night was at a Brazilian buffet with new friends I just met today. I forgot to take food pix, which is very unlike me.
@lordmarcovan Thanks for the show snippets and pictures. It’s great to follow you vicariously. Keep up the good work.
