Nickel error?

    Hi, first post here... I inherited a collection of coins awhile back and am sorting through them now. Came across this nickel. I searched the internet for error coins and didn't see anything else like this. Any comments would be appreciated. Thank you.

    Post mint damage. Could be acid, road rash, or environmental damage.
