    Hi Everyone,

I'm new to coin collecting and i was going through a jar of pennies and discovered this penny. I was wondering if this was a mistake on the coin or if it was just damaged from wear and tear. I thought I had seen this as a mistake when the coin was made but I wasn't sure and I couldn't find it again. If you could let me know I would really appreciate. The coin is a 1984 D Mint Regular Lincoln Penny with the
discoloration on the back and possibly some deformation, I could not clearly tell. DSCN0807m.jpg

your coin has some kind of junk dried up on it.this may be glue with some paper or other material mixed in the dried glue.

The light brown part was not glue or paper it appeared and felt to be like the finish was missing on that part of the coin.

    You touched it?
My first thought is it was in the room during a scene in "The Exorcist."
