I don't sell a lot on eBay. What is the difference in the new guidelines compared to the old ones?

I have but one issue with this.

"Policy Update: All single coins listed in the Coins: US category with a starting bid price, reserve price, or Buy It Now price of $2500 or more must receive a numeric grade from an approved grading company and include a numeric grade in the listing."

What if you have lets say a coin that has been cleaned or whatever that has a value over $2500 and they just slab it as genuine? thats a NO GO coin..

Pretty Ameri-centric if you ask me.

One of the biggest areas of fake coins sold on EBay (after US Morgans) is Chinese-manufactured bogus bullion and world crowns, but I see no restrictions on sale of those items in the new guidelines. Bummer!

Is this the policy that was announced a few months ago or is there something new today?

If it is slabbed genuine (or details) by NGC, PCGS, ANACS, OR ICG, it is good to list for as much as you want.

Makes sense. :) Those are the rules or guidelines for US sellers, not for eBay customers elsewhere. However, in the "not allowed" section they do list "Replica coins" and "Counterfeit coins" ...

Slight problem there. They say "coin" and that is exactly what they mean. They do not count bullion as "coin". ***** a lot. Maybe we can change it.

When did ANACS and ICG get added to the "approved" list? Last I heard it was just PCGS and NGC.

That's right! They go into effect July 1st, so they say. They're about 15 years too late in regulating coin auctions.

eBay is a 1990's company, it still looks pretty much they same and their policies are a hodge-podge of meaningless dribble.
There's no teeth to their bite and scammers regularly return and apply their sick trade of ripping of the general public. The broad brush they paint when it comes to fees is also ridiculous. One small relatively cheap coin selling for $.50 to $1.00 US gets slapped with the following fees:

Listing fee: approx $.10 (if not free at certain times or during specials, lately the first 50 auctions have been free)

    Shipping fee: $.15 approx

Yes you are charged for charging the customer for shipping and handling costs. This is actually illegal since if you ship it yourself eBay has nothing to do with it. It is illegal because you are being charged for nothing and they are providing no services at all to you or the customer in regards to shipping. Plus it is not reported as earned income (taxable) which it is. If the banks can be stopped from charging you $5.00 to cash a check that was issued to you by an account holder at that bank, even though you yourself do not hold an account and that same bank, why can eBay charge for providing no service at all?

End of auction fee: $.15 to $.30 approx
    Paypal transaction fee: $.30 approx

    Total fees: $.70 to $.85
