    Hi
Thanks to you for promoting French Paris Mint !
Young people here are currently having their "Baccalaureat" graduation tests  this week, hence this medal to commemorate.
So far i know, it is the first time we commemorate this event in France ( but i m not an aficionado to the medals, so maybe am i wrong ! )

ROFL, I'm not certain your serious or not.

I'll tell you what happened though. My friend went to Paris this week to visit her sister. And she tells me she sees all over Paris that there is this coin they are advertizing. And I said, the Hercules coin, and she say no. So then i said, then I don't know what it is.

So she sends me a link and says this was it.

No idea how popular those medals are these days, but they must have been around for a while. ;) Here is an article from 2009, about the idea to award medals to good students: http://www.educpros.fr/detail-article/h/d0da6c37c0/a/une-medaille-pour-les-bacheliers.html At the bottom (last sentence) of the text, they mention the medals that the Monnaie de Paris offers ...

Yes, my friend is in France. He happens to also be Jewish but I only found that out over dinner in Bordeaux.

A French automobile? wow, who would have thought it. I thought they only made good bikes.

Ah yes, all those Peugeot-Citroën and Renault bikes. :) Most of them have four wheels and more than one seat though, hehe.

Mavic Rims and Brakes and Bernard Hinault frames. But you might be right about the Renaults in france. They are like Bicycles with 4 wheel. Actually, I thought the the French Government refused to bail our Renault and they went belly up.
