I'm a very enthusiastic rookie, I collected a lot when I was a kid but quit collecting for about 25 years before recently getting back into it.....I was just wondering what machine doubling is, and why it would take away from the chance of this being a valuable coin?
Machine doubling are like die cracks, they're pretty common so they don't demand much from collectors. Basically, machine (mechanical) doubling is mechanical failure that causes the doubling, either from vibrations, shifting of the coin during the strike, etc.
