Still need help with this one. I would appreciate any help. I think it's some sort of token or medal. Here's Obverse(?) side:
Well, I can read the text on the "upper" side. It says VIRGO LAURETANA ORA PRO NOBIS which means "Virgin of Loreto, pray for us". So the figure in the middle will be a madonna. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shrine_of_the_Holy_House ... The date on the other side looks like 1888 to me. But the rest, hmmm. Christian
Yours is a token or medallion of some sort the one side has the virgin mary and child probably with the words SS VIRGO LAURETANA ORA PRO NOBIS and on the other side it has the inscription ERECT CANON 1883 with a design surrounded by the words ANNAE DOMUS LAURENTANAE UNIVERSALLE CONGREGANTO. It's some sort of religious medal/token for some event. Sorry I don't know which one. The reverse, if better, would look like this: Here's the obverse: These are from an auction on ebay which ended this morning. The guy was asking 7.00 for it. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/ws/eBayI...h44WEIAWF%2Bu8%2ByL7Q%3D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc
