I like both of those 04O's, I've been looking for a nice one just haven't found one that says buy me just yet...
Pretty interesting read. I managed to pick one up myself, its not in that high of a grade. But it was more of a random purchase.
O mint!!!!!! :thumb:Wow there a gemmy bunch 1904-O New Orleans Morgan dollar here !!! classy :thumb: I have all dates but 1895& there some 1904-O gem out there.
That's what happens when time travelers from the late 1950's go back and grab up a rare date, and then dump them onto the market in the 1960's.

http://www.coinpeople.com/index.php...oth-extremes-by-paul-m-green-numismatic-news/
The story is good but isn't complete with how they were finally made common again. In the early 1960's with the rise in price of silver people started becoming a lot more interested in buying up silver dollars at banks. The banks then ordered coins that the Treasury had - which is how some of the scarcer dates that had been stored in vaults for nearly sixty years were finally released. The 1904-O Morgans were first noticed at a bank in Flint, Michigan in the early 1960's.
