Here is another fun quiz. All you guys have to do is guess the US coin from each photo. If you know the series, then you will recognize the eye. These are all regular circulating US coins. Let’s guess one at a time to give others time to see the thread & play along.
I've added six more coin photos to eye-dentify. Five are regular circulating coins & one is a commemorative.
Jello has guessed the first six correctly. This guy knows his coins. (BTW, I think the Morgan, Ike, seated, and Barber were also proofs but I took the photos a long time ago & don't remember for certain).
I didn't photograph the Lincoln cent. However, If you are into dimes you should check-out coins 7 through 12.
Date & mint mark - no way. I doubt I could figure out the date & I took the photos. There are two dimes in the 7 through 12 group. Can you name them?
This group was a little harder for me than the first! #7 - Washington Quarter #8 - Mercury Dime #9 - Roosevelt Dime #10 - Liberty Nickel #11 - Jefferson Nickel #12 - Susan B Anthony Dollar
You have a good eye & know your coins. You are right-on with coins #7 through #11. That #12 sure looks like SBA but it is actually Marquis de Lafayette. It was the only commemorative in the lot.
The answers are: 1. Morgan Dollar 2. Peace Dollar 3. Ike Dollar 4. Seated Liberty Type 5. Barber type 6. Franklin Half 7. Washington Quarter 8. Mercury Dime 9. Roosevelt Dime 10. Liberty Nickel 11. Jefferson Nickel 12.Lafayette Comm Dollar Thanks to everyone for playing along.
This was very interesting, but the answers were given too soon for me..one at a time I thought was the idea. Still interesting..very! Thank you for posting the challenge. Lucy
I don't understand why you would ask. As I recall, the photos were taken with a Minolta digtal camera & a microscope.
Oh - It was a reference to my being accused of using a Barbie camera. It doesn't mean anything. I remember this thread and actually thought about it when I put out mine.
