I would take a better look at the N on the cent on the reverse. It doesn't look like it has a thick section in the valley. It is a little difficult to tell by the photo. A close of this location as well as the V.D.B. would help.

If this is a counterfeit it was made before 1964 and was in circulation, what process do you think would have been used?

This one has possibilities. The weakness in the reverse as aforementioned isn't necessarily a deal-breaker although it is strong evidence along those lines. You really need this one attributed if you're thinking of retaining any kind of value in it. If it is counterfeit, that happened to the obverse, not the reverse.

I used to collect just 1916-D slabbed so i have a few, as for the quarter i only have one in horrible condition, i had to buy it to complete my set so i only spent around 300, its a low VF, ill post pictures here

Id never melt any of them down even if fake.
Id use them for filling holes in my coin book that most here will never have anyway.
Mark them on back as fake but fill your coinbooks.

Are you chinese by chance? you seem to have a lot of key coins that you know nothing about....Either you are extremely uneducated at what you buy or you are asking about fakes to see if they are good to pass off on ebay or this site! Its almost as if you are fishing for a foolish buyer.... Which one is it? You, my friend, have one heck of a collection to not know if all of these are real or fake......If i had your collection, i would know exactly what i have before having to post on a forum.

 

The N makes me think fake.

 

Full blooded white my friend, German and Irish here if you look at my introduction it may explain a little more. I dont sell my coins unless someone is very persistant and i have a duplicate, i often mark my fake coins with "copy" and i also know very much about all my key coins as i have been collecting since i was very young, i got serious in fifth grade but one of the main reasons i joined this forum was to get your opinions on the coins i have before sending them in to be slabbed, hoping to save some money and learn more about the constantly evolving fakes. i have spent well over $500,000 on my collection and i work all over the country so i clearly don't have time to be minting fake coins in my basement. I live in a small town in Connecticut the only time im in China is for buisness, however i do understand your skepticism but if you look so far i have only posted 2 rare coins in question but im sure you will see more.
