When you blow up this half dime, the scratches are very obvious. However, it is a tiny coin and the scratches are not that obvious in reality. Can I get away with giving this a G-4 grade?

It is better than G4 but it is obviously cleaned/scratched and would be in a details holder if submitted to a reputable TPG.

As HullCOins said, it would be better than G-4 if not for the sctarches. If your asking if it would be ethically ok to do that, I say no since you dont adress the problem of the scratch which severly reduces the value and grade and wouldnt be fair for a person to buy. I know you have to be careful when buying but when everyone is trying to get away with something, it takes the fun out of the hunt.

I guess the question is, "What is it worth?" I didn't realize it had been cleaned. Would it be worth as much as a G-4?

I don't sell coins. I'm just trying to value my own collection.

Don't have my Quarterly 1 on me but I would guestimate $15 to $20. Really depends what someone thinks of it. The reverse is much better than the obverse because the hairlines aren't visible and there isn't the heavy scratch across the surface.
