I think I used a copper cleaner on this coin in the sixties, when I was a boy. (The coin was black, if I remember correctly.) Does it look like it? Is the coin still worth something?
Yes, the coin looks treated. However, it is a desirable semi-key in the series and is definately worth something. With that said though, a value for a coin like this is subjective and can't simply be ascertained by looking at book value.
I've noticed the surface isn't smooth like most cents. Yeah, it still looks better than a black coin. I've been grading it as an AG-3, though it has the details of F-12 or better, I think.
