Double sided (silver?) quarter (reverse)

At work I found a quarter with both sides being a reverse. I was wondering if anyone could help me on any leads.

What you have is most likely what we call a Magician's Coin. One coin has (in this case) the obverse removed except for the rim leaving what looks like a pie shell. Another coin has its entire obverse removed and the rim removed. The two pieces are pieced together to create what appears to be a coin with two reverses. If you look carefully you should be able to see a seam running along the inside of the rim on one side.

 

It's probably a magicians' coin. Look for a seam around the edge where the two halves were joined.

 

Or (as I pointed out above) look for a seam around the rim where the pieces were joined together. (It is pretty hard to make the seam look right when it is on the edge. The reeding is very hard to line up perfectly. That's one reason the seam is often just inside the rim.)

That's a pretty sweet magician's coin though. Different mints using silver quarters.
