Turban heads...Try to collect that series without winning the lottery. But design wise, it's a toss up between every modern design.

I don't like anything after Ike, including almost all modern commems. Having dismissed modern issues, my least favorite historical issue is the Liberty Seated design. I know some collectors revere Gobrecht, but to me the seated liberty figure has absolutely no dynamic sculptural quality at all. It's finicky and frumpy and not interesting even in a quaint way. I do like the reverses of all Liberty Seated denoms., though.

Barbers are a close second for me but I would have to say Kennedy Half Dollars

    1. Buffalo nickels. Even though I collect a few for history, the design is very flat and boring.
    2. Walking Liberty half dollars. They look decent in high grades, but look terrible when worn down.

Barbers are my least favorite series. I don't hate them but they're definitely my least favorite, and here's why. Compare them to other Liberty designs: Liberty's hair is either cropped short or tucked in her cap, not blowing around or falling over her shoulders gracefully as in the Draped and Capped Busts and Peace dollar; she's not posed in an interesting way like in the Seateds, Walkers, or St. Gaudens; the detail is lacking when compared to Morgans and even the Liberty nickels, which Barber also designed. Yes, it's a nice, simple design but IMO, compared to every other Liberty design on our coinage, it's boring.

I think they should have gone with Barber's nickel design for the rest of the denominations.

Washington quarters and Jefferson Nickels because of the modern coins I never can find anything good in circulation.

Modern coinage(post 64, US, minus ikes) However, I am taking a liking to the ATB quarters(just the designs, not the relief) but that is shakey.

I would love to have liberty back on coins! they had enough of a break from 1909-1964, and practacly a retirement from 1909-2012. Heck, even mule the old designs, just give me liberty back! (I think chuck norris perfectly represents liberty)

Probably cause I could never afford to buy one like that.

Could this thread not have been more possitive, like "what is you favorite series/branch of numismatics"? It would be more inclusive. people could say ancients(roman, greek, ect.), forien(chinese, swiss, ect.), errors, specific US series. Just say'n.

I don't doubt that. He was rich and powerful.

He's all business in the front, but party in the back.

Franklin was the brains behind the American Revolution. Without his mind and to the extend that he would go in finding favor with france we would have never become an independant nation. France was the strongest military power in the world at that time.

Washington Quarters. The design does nothing for me.
