Or maybe not. Seems that the medal commemorates this guy: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_William,_Margrave_of_Brandenburg-Bayreuth Christian
And to quote a typical current eBay seller: "I do not know the language or the significance of this piece but it is in excellent AU condition and is more then likely extremely rare." Why do these guys have the best stuff, but never know what they are selling? Haven't they heard of CoinTalk? Don't they know that they are wasting precious coins when there are starving collectors out there. If I search on the net for something specific it comes up on Cointalk hardly ever on eBay. I always find out after the auction ends and that's because a lot of sellers don't always post the correct information. We need to do an "occupy eBay" and demand that sellers post correct information! "Ye shall not sell any coin before CoinTalk members hath examined it!"
Can't say for sure, but if I had the cash I would have gone up to $100. It's a nice coin and well worth having in a collection.
I think a lot of these guys get estate sale stuff or something. I generally look at the seller's other items before making serious bids or offers. Sometimes you luck out.
