I saw this on ebay and just had to have it. I may have paid a bit strong, but I have never seen a Morgan carved with such intricacy. Whoever carved this piece clearly took pride in what they were making and spend a lot of time. I will take better pics tomorrow and post them. There is a bail attached so it was obviously worn at one point. And before someone starts, no its not CAC'd. Thanks for looking! Ankur
I've seen a lot of Masonic coins, tokens, and other stuff but nothing as nice as your piece Ankur. Great pickup! Bruce
I wonder what the G stands for... We should call nicolas cage, or at least rick, he's got a buddy for everything I like the all seeing eye, it looks good in that setting.
I take it you missed the nicolas cage joke? well, it was based on the fact that he was the lead in "national treasure" (movie) where he looks for a hidden masonic treasure hoard worth millions, billions. good movie. Sequal was good too. they look for the city of gold. (I figure I can say this without being off toppic, because the masonic thing applys the the thread, and the other is a giant amount of gold, which applys to numismatics) That thing is cool!
Nicholas Cage is terrible. Other than in Raising Arizona. Never saw those National Treasure films, I was under the impression they were for children. Really nice Morgan there. Masonic coins/medals, etc. are pretty interesting.
Hi, To feed the thread i could not resist to share with you these 2 masonic tokens ( French one from the 18th century , just got these 2 from this early period ) Very low "mintage" for sure.. . Please enjoy them as i do
