A few weeks ago I was at my friends house and saw he had a jar of change and being the numismatists that I am I asked if I could look through it. I ended up finding 4 wheat cents and offered my friend a nickel for them thinking he would do it. He took a look and the pennies and said "No way! These are cool." And he wouldn't let me have them even after I raised my offer up to a quarter just to get him to say yes. Well a couple of days ago he texted me saying he found a 1916 cent in his change and that he always looks through the change he gets now. I think I've created a monster lol.

You know if we keep doing this, coins are going to be way to expensive for the rest of us. We should create a secret society.

Ya my 8 year old brother goes to banks and gets rolls of pennies now looking for wheats. I let him help me look through my rolls, but I guess he got tired of handing over all the wheats he found in my rolls...

awww, pick up some rolls just for him to look through that he can keep his finds. That way you can both search together and he gets to keep his.

To the OP. You should have told him the coins suck. Offer him a quarter for them while telling him you're taking off his hands so he won't have to look at them. :D

But its always cool to have a friend collecting with you. You will always have someone to talk about coins to.
