The 1974-S was purchased raw by me on Ebay some 4 or 5 years ago for around $80 which was moon money at the time for a raw Ike. About a year and a half after I bought it I sent it to PCGS and they body bagged it for questionable color. I didn't agree so when PCGS annouced the Secure plus service I contacted Don Willis about the sniffer process. He advised me to resubmit the coins so I had it walked through the Chicago ANA last year and it came back in the 67 holder....I felt vindicated but with coins like this both top services tend to air on the side of caution.

The coin is a total knockout, and PCGS should have known that Ikes, especially Brown Ikes, or album Ikes tone wildly at times.

Huge difference Matthew! How exactly did you change the lighting?

The first set of pics was taken form light that came in through the window and was lightly edited with Gimp to bring out some of the color at the time i was struggling to capture toning and then was shown how by many CT members. The second set of photos was shot with the lights and light box shown below which explains the slight yellowish color.

This is the obverse shot with the same setup.....

I saw this coin on Teletrade and was even tracking it but, to me, it does not "look" like a silver coin so I didn't bother bidding.
