I have worked as a cahsier before, and I'm sure that some of you guys have at some point. As with most collectors, I couldn't resist looking through the change to find something magnificent! My best find was a 1964 silver dime, which is pretty dismal.

I was wondering what the best find that you guys have ever found was, but only the ones you found while being the cashier/ working w/money count this time. No searchng through rolls at the bank, that'll be my next thread, lol. I'm sure that some of you bankers find some pretty good stuff!

Found a Liberty Quarter, no date, from an empty coin slot while working at my School Store, several stars too. Stupid same-age kids...

I got several COPs, mule and non-mule, of the 1981 $1 FRN series when it was current, including one pair of stars and a mule, non-mule, mule triplet.

In 1987 I was head cashier at a Piggly Wiggly. I was on register 5. Some teenagers came through register 1[fast lane], and I heard all the way the clang of silver going into the register. I practically ran from where I was with bills coming out of my wallet. They had bought smokeless tabacco (dip) with a roll of 1962 Franklin silver half dollars. I got 18 of them that day. The greatest find of my life!!!:mouth: I still feel bad for the Grandfather those kids stole from, but they are treasured to this day. Sgklee
