Went out detecting again today. Had a little success. Found the buffalo nickel and two indian head pennies pictured. Check out the condition of the 1890. Real nice for being in the ground for over 100 years. She was down around 9 inches. The last photo is of everything I dug up today. I did find a silver thimble but it is all crushed. Its fun diggin in the dirt for old stuff. Ya never know what you'll find. Jim
how does a coin stay so nice after so long in dirt? I found once a coin from 1880ths that was in terrible shape in flower garden.
Hey Krasnaya, the fertilizer probably ate up your coin. Coins in parks come out in pretty bad shape around here but ones that have been lost at private homes usually come out nice. Jim Must be the great Michigan soil.
