"One hundred dollar percent guarantee"? You sound like a used cars salesman. I agree with your stance of PL. The camera pictures didn't pick it up originally so it's safe to assume no PL.
Very nice coin. I will say 63 with a possible bump to 64 because of toning. Then again it looks like a NGC holder so it might be a 63*.
So much for the guarantee, huh. Regardless of if it is truly PL in-hand or not, guaranteeing anything with coins from photos is a bad idea.. you just never know.
Wow... With those pictures provided, I would have never guessed "PL". Very nice coin. I bet the toning is better than that of what shows on the pics.
I picked up on the PL right away but was off (under) by 1 point on the grade. I wonder if it got a bump up from the toning. TC
Lol, I think we all (I) got burned on that one. Just goes to show how it's 100x better to view a coin in hand than through any type of picture!
I think NGC dropped the ball on that grade, or the picture wasn't representing the coin that well. Shocked. Well, my bad--dropped the fly ball big time. I also see that my stalker weighed in on my mistake.
There is no pleasing you, is there? God forbid I make a harmless, good-natured comment if in any way it could be taken as going against the illusion that you are the end-all, be-all expert on anything and everything dollar. It is rather sad that name calling is what you have to resort to instead of engaging in an open-ended and free discussion. After all, this is an coin forum and not Morgandude's personal stage, or so it was the last I checked. Of course it was NGC who dropped the ball or maybe the OP's imaging skills.. but not you. Even though they viewed the coin in-hand and all we had to go on were iffy photos/scans, the mistake was theirs, right? I cannot help but to wonder how you would react if I or someone else tore apart your coins.. knocking the grades and/or designations all while putting a smiley face at the end as if this in some way makes everything okay. For some odd reason I think name calling, tall tales, and/or complaining would commence. You even said the coin was "beautiful", so why not let it go with that? The OP seems a nice guy, so was it really worth saying such things as a way to save face? Now please, no smoke and mirrors this time... we know, its an older holder and designation standards have changed. Maybe it would PL today and maybe it would not, but unless we have the coin in-hand, Ill take NGC's word for it. Congrats to Icerain on a nice pick-up. It's a nice and attractive coin no matter what anyone else says.
I told you to please stop harassing me. If you don't cease with the stalking of every one of my posts, I shall pursue additional course of action. Every response to me from you has been viciously negative and confrontational. I had you on ignore, but your abusive reactive posts were reported to me by others. Why not just leave me alone, and go about your business of collecting coins, and not being sarcastic, denigrating, or abusive? Really, this is so counter-productive. My posts have generally been opinions, and you seem to be acting as if I must prove my logic to you--why is that productive or necessary? Just leave me alone.
Really? I try To be honest I don't like confrontations. And I have learned early in life that some things are just not worth getting angry about. But anyway thanks for everyone who have viewed and likes my coin.
Smart man. I don't like confrontation either. Some folks are always seeking it, and what can ya do? I guess just ignore.
