I need help with the value of a couple different kinds of pennies that came into my store the a few days ago. This 1887 Indian Head has some nice detail, but I'm not sure what all of the discoloration is, especially on the back. Does that kill the value? There was also 3 large cents, however 2 of them are pretty rough, here is an 1848 that is in the best condition. This 1865 2c piece has a reverse that is a little offset from the the obverse, is that rare? Thanks
1887 IHC- cleaned/pitted/corroded..not worth anything 1848 LC- looks like it has been buried or in some type of acid for a while probably worth around $10-$20 1865 2c - guessing anywhere from $15-$35. This price is off of www.numismedia.com To get a better or more accurate price learn to grade coins then go to auction website like www.ha.com, www.teletrade.com, or www.ebay.com to find similar coins to what you have to see what they have been selling for. Someone with more knowledge will should be able to give you a more accurate price.
The Indian Head would probably be worth $8-$10 if it wasn't corroded, but as shoewrecky said, not worth much or anything in that condition. Could maybe get a buck or two on ebay if someone needed to fill a hole in a folder.
I'm sure he could probably even get $3-4 for the IH. It has strong details (and full LIBERTY), not to mention it's a relatively older date (80s). With the right picture(s), someone will probably snatch it up.
the IHC looks like a dug coin; and the back is rust from a near-by iron object that was buried next to it, IMO.
